5 Game-Changing Pivots I Made in My Business in 2024

This year has been one of the most transformative for my business, not because of flashy moves or dramatic shifts, but because of intentional, aligned decisions. These changes weren’t about chasing trends but about creating a business (and life) that feels simpler, more sustainable, and deeply aligned with what I value most.

Here are the five major pivots I made in 2024 that changed everything:

1. Shifting from Revenue Goals to Income Goals

For years, I set ambitious revenue goals because, let’s face it, they’re exciting. But this year, I shifted my focus to what truly matters: how much I pay myself.

Instead of aiming for the highest revenue possible, I prioritized profitability. Every decision – from offers to pricing to my schedule – was filtered through the lens of how much income I wanted to take home. This approach simplified my business and created a calm, sustainable rhythm. It’s proof that bigger isn’t always better; what matters is what you keep.

2. Saying Goodbye to Freebies

In 2024, I entered my “no more working for free” era. Instead of pouring energy into free resources, I leaned into creating low-to-mid-cost, high-value paid offers that introduced people to my world.

This pivot helped me attract committed, action-oriented clients while ensuring I was well-compensated for all my work. The results have been incredible: higher conversion rates, better relationships with clients, and more confidence in the value of my services.

3. Transitioning to 1:1 Coaching as My Core Offer

This year, I made 1:1 coaching the heart of my business. I transitioned away from memberships and masterminds, simplified my offerings, and priced my 1:1 coaching based on supply and demand.

The results? Lower expenses, reduced stress, and less marketing load. Plus, I’m loving the deeper, more personal work I get to do with my clients. This shift has allowed me to support my clients in a way that feels impactful and aligned with how I want to work.

4. Streamlining Our Marketing Agency Services

In 2024, my marketing agency took a hard look at its offerings. While we can do everything, we realized we don’t need to. Instead, we streamlined our services to focus exclusively on repurposing existing content for our clients.

Now, we take the incredible blogs, podcasts, and videos our clients have already created and transform them into emails and social media posts. This keeps our clients visible and consistent without requiring extra effort on their part. It’s been a win-win: our services are more focused, and our clients get exactly what they need.

5. Fully Committing to School Hours

When my husband returned to work this year, I made a non-negotiable commitment: I would only work during school hours. This forced me to get intentional about how I spend my time, delegate more, and simplify my business.

This boundary has been a game-changer. My business runs smoothly, and I’m fully present for my kids during a season of life where it feels extra important to be there for them.

What These Pivots Have Taught Me

These shifts weren’t about reinventing the wheel or chasing shiny objects. They were about aligning my business with what I value most: family time, simplicity, and long-term sustainability.

If you’ve been feeling like your business isn’t quite fitting your life, it might be time to make some intentional changes. Whether it’s focusing on profitability, simplifying your offers, or setting better boundaries, small shifts can lead to big transformations.
