Setting Your Business Up for a Fresh Start in 2026 (from a business coach for women who actually keeps things simple)
The new year comes with that “okay… something needs to change” energy. As a business coach for women, I see this from my clients every year: the desire to reset, simplify, and build a business that actually works in real life, not just in your head… or a piece of paper you create at the beginning of the year and never look at again.
It might feel kind of cliche or basic but here’s the truth:
The end of the year is the perfect moment to take a pause, zoom out to the big picture, and decide what you want your business to look like in 2026 – the practical, realistic version you can do during school hours on a regular day, not the fantasy version that requires you to clone yourself.
Here’s where to start:
1. Simplify Your Business (so 2026 doesn’t feel like a grind)
If your business feels heavier than it used to, that’s not a you problem… it’s a “your business collected too much clutter” problem.
As women entrepreneurs, we tend to accumulate things over time:
the offers we don’t really sell, processes that made sense three seasons ago, platforms we feel guilty for ignoring because we invested time or energy into them…. plus all those exciting new ideas that we keep stacking on top of all of it.
This time of year is perfect for reflecting and simplifying. No shame about what you’ve collected, but the ultimate self care thing you can do for yourself right now is being willing to question and change it.
So ask yourself these questions:
What can I let go of?
What actually creates results for me?
This is essential to business planning for women entrepreneurs: deciding what stays, what goes, and what was never worth your energy in the first place.
Simplifying doesn’t make your business smaller.
It makes it smarter.
2. Streamline Your Processes (because carrying it all in your brain or duct-taping it together isn’t sustainable)
If you’re always busy but not growing, it comes down to how you’re spending your time. And it’s often a systems issue.
Look at the behind the scenes parts of your business: onboarding, content workflow, payment collection, follow up, client communication. Anything you’re regularly spending time on needs to prove that it has a purpose and is worth the time you’re putting in.
This is where streamlining your business pays off fast.
Your goal isn’t efficiency just for the sake of making things efficient (although it can be SO satisfying!) – your goal is actually freeing yourself up. You want to spend your time on the parts of your business that actually make money or feel meaningful. Preferably both.
Tiny process upgrades → huge relief.
3. Scaling in 2026 (without bulldozing your nervous system)
Let’s talk scaling: the kind that is smart and sustainable… not the “make as much as I can before the business and I crash and burn.” (Sounds dramatic but it is genuinely a real thing and you don’t want any part of it.)
Effective scaling happens when you choose one part of your business that’s already working and amplify it intentionally. No running in a hundred different directions. No dramatic overhauls. No brand new offer with brand new launch every single month. (or week…. eek.)
This is how women scale sustainably: slow enough to stay steady, fast enough to feel momentum.
Start with one growth lever.
Not eight.
Not “the entire business.”
One.
That’s how you grow without losing your mind.
So… where do you start?
(Here are the 3 options I recommend based on where you and your business are right now.)
Design 2026 (ok, this one’s for everyone)
If you want a clean, intentional plan for the new year, then start with Design 2026.
It walks you through evaluating what worked, what didn’t, and what needs to change. You’ll get guided questions, a printable + fillable workbook, and an actual framework for planning 2026 like someone who knows what she’s doing.
Think of it as the essential tool for business planning for 2026.
Mama to CEO (for moms wanting consistency in business)
If you’re a mom building a business inside a life full of kids, schedules, and interruptions, Mama to CEO is your starting point.
It teaches you how to pick the right offer, validate it, get clients, and build real momentum – all within the time you actually have. This is for moms who want a simple path to consistent income without needing to spend everything they earn (or more…) on childcare.
Business Planning Intensive (ok this one’s for everyone too)
If you want clarity now (like sit down with someone, clear out everything unnecessary, and get decisions made) book a Business Planning Intensive.
It’s 50 minutes of strategy, problem solving, and me pointing directly at the things your brain has been avoiding.
2026 can be easier, lighter, and more profitable… but not if you keep dragging the same messy systems, unclear offers, and decision fatigue into the new year.
You don’t need to totally start over fresh.
You just need to clean some things up & make solid, strategic decisions going forward.
If you want help mapping out your year, choosing the right offer, streamlining your business, or creating a plan you can actually follow, start with the option that matches the season you’re in.
Let’s make 2026 the year your business finally feels like something you built on purpose. 🩷
